Abstractions at Plum Bottom’s Latest Art Show

Plum Bottom Pottery & Gallery invites the community to Art Show 6: Abstractions on June 23, 3 – 6 pm, with new work from three of the gallery’s abstract artists: Carol and Mark Pflughoeft and Sara Vanderkleed. Come and enjoy a glass of von Stiehl vitner’s blend wine or a cup of Door County Coffee and chat with the artists. Vanderkleed will lead a demo at 4 pm.

Carol Pflughoeft’s original photography incorporates mathematical fractals in many layered pieces that are both abstract and familiar. This time-consuming process creates vibrant and dynamic photographs that capture the imagination.

Sara_Vanderkleed-2Vanderkleed is expanding her horizons with her newest collections of abstract landscapes in watercolor. She captures more than just the view of a beach or sunset, she captures the feel of the scene.

Mark Pflughoeft’s latest collection of work balances color and aggressive texture with geometrical patterns, creating order from chaos that jumps off the canvas.

Plum Bottom Pottery & Gallery, open daily 10 am – 5 pm, is located 15 minutes north of Sturgeon Bay or five minutes south of Egg Harbor on Highway 42 then east on Plum Bottom Road (1 mile) to 4999 Plum Bottom Rd. in Egg Harbor.
