Abstracts and Orchids at Ladybug Glass

Stop by Ladybug Glass Studio & Gallery on June 3, 5-8 pm, for the opening reception for Kimberly Lyon’s glass abstract and orchid photography exhibit. The First Friday celebration will continue June 4, 10 am – 5 pm, with light refreshments.

Featured photographs will show the floral nature of some of Lyon’s macro photographs in which glass is the subject – a takeoff of her fused-glass work – as well as a new series in which orchids are the focal point, photographed to try out a new lens on plants blooming in her studio. Both types of work came out of a “What happens if I try this?” approach.

Ladybug Glass – primarily a stained- and fused-glass and photography gallery – hosts guest artists spring through fall, and it features work by local artists. The gallery, 219 Steele St. in Algoma, is open Thursday-Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, or by appointment.
