Additions to Run Green Crossroads Trail Run

Crossroads Trail Run/Walk is just around the corner, being held Saturday, June 23, at Big Creek Environmental Learning Preserve in Sturgeon Bay.

To keep with the trail run’s mission of promoting green living in our community, three additional environmental friendly aspects have been added this year. Need a refill for your water bottle? The Collins Learning Center has installed a water bottle filling fountain for all to use. Ride your bike to the event and receive a special thank-you incentive from the team. During pre-packet pickup and day of registration, bring your used shoes to hang on their giving tree; the shoes will be passed on to others in need.

Other environmental friendly aspects of this event include awards made locally by artists and businesses, post-race refreshments made within 20 miles of the event, and compostable paper goods.

Crossroads Trail Run/Walk features a 2k, 5k and 10k run, all with chip timing. Depending on the distance, trails take runners through all three of Crossroads Preserves. Trails include single and double track, with wood chip, gravel and dirt foundations. Each mile is marked.

Proceeds support the Crossroads Ski-for-Free program and the general fund. For more information and to register, go to CrossroadsRun.com.
