Adopt A Soldier-Door County Fundraiser

Adopt A Soldier-Door County will hold a fundraiser at Martin Park on Aug. 4. The fundraiser starts at 7 am with breakfast at the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department on Nebraska Street. This is an all-you-can-eat breakfast including pancakes, Seaquist Orchard cherries, eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit and orange juice, all served with a bottomless cup of coffee or water. Breakfast is $8 per person and $5 for 10 and under, and is served until 11 am.

The fundraiser’s focus shifts to music and food at nearby Martin Park (Third Ave. and Oregon St.). At 12 pm the American Flag is presented by members of Weber-Tess Amvets Post 51 of Sturgeon Bay, and local vocalist Sara Lautenbach will sing the National Anthem.

Then lunch begins and features a fresh-grilled brat, burger or hotdog with chips and a soft drink or water for $8 per person or $5 for those 10 and under. Food is available 12-5 pm. Also starting at 12 pm is the band Dewey, Rockem and Howe, followed by DJ Lars at 1 pm, and Copper Box at 2 pm.

Throughout the day raffles and silent auctions are held. Silent auction items include a handmade quilt; a 5 day/4 night Cancun vacation ($189 up-front fee, does not include airfare); and four one-day hopper passes for Disney World with a value of $600. More items to be announced later. For more information visit AdoptASoldierDoorCounty.org.
