ADRC Webcast on Medicaid Changes May 8

As of January 2018, SSI Medicaid Managed Care (HMOs) are required for individuals receiving SSI Medicaid because of a disability and who are 19 years old or older. There will not be an opt-out provision anymore. This process is changing in order to improve the quality of health care benefits. Once individuals receive an enrollment packet, they will have approximately five weeks to choose an HMO. If an individual does not choose one, they will be auto-enrolled. Once auto-enrolled or enrolled on their own, they have 90 days to switch HMOs. After the 90 days, they will be locked into their HMO for nine months before they can choose another HMO.

To view a webcast presentation regarding the changes, join the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Door County on May 8, 1:30 – 3 pm. ADRC of Door County is located at 916 N. 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay.
