AECOM Technical Services has earned an Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies for its work on the Ephraim streetscape project.
The firm worked with state and local stakeholders to improve the Highway 42 corridor through the Village of Ephraim, which helped with vehicle circulation, parking, pedestrian connections, stormwater runoff and lighting without detracting from the village’s historical character. Much of the village is located in a National Historic District, so the village uses zoning and design guidelines to strictly maintain its historical charm.
Project planning was complicated because construction was limited to the shoulder seasons to accommodate the peak tourism season. A ribbon cutting marked the project’s completion in August.
