Affordable Portable Spas Opens in DCEDC

Tom Murray, a retired college professor from Chicago, and his wife Sue recently started a business in the Door County Economic Development Center in Sturgeon Bay.

With previous careers in health care management and education – including an adult education course called OPTION 55, which focused on assisting people in making plans for their retirement – Murray was looking to find a way to spend more time in Door County during his retirement.

Heeding the familiar lessons from the OPTION 55 course, Murray decided to open Affordable Portable Spas Door County. The new business selling spas and infrared saunas has allowed him to meet new people, as well as create a business that was somewhat frivolous compared to health care and education, all the while supplementing his retirement income.
