Aging Mastery Program Starts Five-Week Run on Oct. 14

The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Door County, 916 N. 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, will host the AARP Smart Driver Course on Oct. 10, 10 am – 12 pm, then resuming 1-3 pm. (Arrive by 9:45 am.) Participants will learn defensive-driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road, how to deal with aggressive drivers and safely navigate adverse weather conditions, and more. The ADRC will also offer the Aging Mastery Program, a 10-class course designed to inform, encourage and support aging adults as they improve their lives and stay engaged in their community. It incorporates evidence-based materials, expert speakers, group discussion and peer support to give participants the skills and tools they need to achieve measurable improvements in managing their health and remaining economically secure.The Aging Mastery Program will be held on Mondays and Thursdays for five weeks, 10-11:30 am, Oct. 14 – Nov. 14.
