AleFest Brings Craft Beer, Seminars and Live Music to Egg Harbor

The craft beer industry has grown tremendously in the past decade. In 2012 craft beer consumption was up by 15 percent, and shows signs of increasing in 2013. Each individual beer is a one-of-a-kind creation. Craft beer teaches us history, geography and culture one sip at a time. With the popularity of these craft beers, the Egg Harbor Business Association (EHBA) will present the Egg Harbor AleFest.

This year’s event is set for Sept. 21. The Egg Harbor AleFest is about having fun and tasting some amazing craft beers. “Craft beer offers a multitude of flavors and beer styles that give the beer lover’s palate something to sing about,” says Jeff Larson, president of the Egg Harbor Business Association (EHBA) and event planner/promoter.

The Egg Harbor AleFest is set for Sept. 21. VIP admission starts at noon, general admission is from 1 – 4 pm, and last call is at 5pm.

The festival will feature unlimited tastings of more than 120 of the finest craft beers. Representatives will discuss their beers and brewery history. There will be beers from New Glarus Brewing, Titletown Brewing, Capital Brewing, Horny Goat Brewing, Rush River Brewing, O’so Brewing, 3 Sheeps Brewing and Door County’s own Shipwrecked Brewing. There will also be a number of seminars throughout the afternoon about homebrewing, beer and food pairing, and the Mobcraft Beer business model.

Live music will be ongoing during the festival with One Too Many (O2M) Band and Bette E. Ford.

Admission is limited to 2,500 people. Price of admission ranges from $40 for an adult to $79 for a VIP pass. Designated drivers get in for $15. All attendees receive a commemorative pint glass.
