Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce Seeks Nominations for 2021 Beacon Awards

The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations from the public for the 2021 Beacon Awards, which honor individuals and businesses that are a source of light or inspiration. 

The Tower Business Award honors a business that shows leadership in the business community and also makes an impact on the local community; the Lighthouse Award goes to a volunteer or community member who has made a significant contribution to the Algoma area; the Lantern Education Award recognizes an educator or school employee who goes above and beyond to assist students, peers or the education community; the Rising Star Award lauds a new company or staff member of note who has had a positive effect on the local business community; and the Rose Improvement Recognition honors a business for its notable improvements.

Nominations are open until June 1, and recipients will be announced by the end of June. The awards will be presented Aug. 5, 6 pm, prior to the Algoma Concerts in the Park at Heritage Park. Make nominations at visitalgomawi.com/beacon.
