On June 15 the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes the public and chamber membership to a double ribbon cutting and grand opening at Lighthouse Chiropractic, 305 Steele St., and FTS Technology Group, 316 Steele St.
The first ribbon cutting at 11 am, featuring Lighthouse Chiropractic, is the public’s opportunity to meet Dr. Amber Vanden Avond and her family with celebrations including cake, snacks and prizes. Dr. Vanden Avond earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University. She uses advanced chiropractic techniques to restore proper nervous system function and proper joint biomechanics.
The second ribbon cutting at noon, featuring FTS Technology Group, owned by Ryan Hoffmann, will celebrate Hoffmann’s relocation to Steele Street as he expands his on-site services including computer sales and repair, audio/visual, security cameras and more. Hoffmann also provides tech and network support to agricultural entities and small-to-medium businesses stretching from the lakeshore to Beaver Dam.
FTS Technology Group was originally started as Farm Technology Services LLC and began as an everyday dinner table conversation with Hoffmann’s uncle Rod, a long-time dairy farmer. Throughout the discussion, it became apparent that there was an imminent need for a technology support company that specialized in the farming industry and its related businesses. By the time the conversation ended, the idea had formed into a reality and Farm Technology Services was born.
