Join the Door County Historical Society to celebrate German Festival on Aug. 10, 10 am – 3 pm, at the Heritage Village at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.
Learn some German history; indulge in German foods, from brats to cake; and enjoy German music and demonstrations of blacksmithing, silk dying and knapping. At 11 am and 2 pm, Nan and Jerry Krause will tell immigrant stories in the Vignes School, and Joan Wilkie will also be in the school at 1 pm.
The Madden Tool Museum will be open so guests can learn about antique tools – or take one of your own to try to stump the experts!
Admission is free for members and $6.50 per guest adult. Food will be available for purchase.
