“All Things Lavender” Festival at Fragrant Isle

Fragrant Isle will host its inaugural “All Things Lavender” Festival on July 24 – 26 on Washington Island. Travel across Lake Michigan and celebrate the start of harvest season and all things lavender. Stroll through the lavender fields surrounded by more than 10,000 live lavender plants bursting with color and fragrance.

Daily seminars include the following topics: growing and processing lavender; using lavender in everyday life; lavender wand making; and lavender chocolate making. Vendors will also offer lavender products for purchase.

Daily tours of the working barn will show visitors how Fragrant Isle cultivates, harvests, and distills its lavender for its products. Visitors can also explore their cutting garden, where visitors can gather/cut their own lavender bundles. Staff will offer assistance, answer questions and advice.

Enjoy a taste of lavender food and drink at the specialty food tents. Ice cream, chocolates infused with lavender, pastries, cheese and charcuterie as well as wine and beer will be available. Chef Terri Milligan will serve a daily lunch menu featuring Fragrant Isle’s Culinary Lavender. Chef Bob McKinley will serve a daily sandwich created for Fragrant Isle featuring Herbs de Provence.

Music will be provided by Julian Hagen, Rick Gourley, The Nicks, Lynn Gudmundsen & David Hatch, and Laura Sawosko.

Festival hours are 10 am to 7 pm Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm Sunday. For complete festival details, visit fragrantisle.com.
