Almost Time to Crawl

Ellison Bay artists are organizing studios and finishing new works for the Fall Art Crawl, set for Oct. 25 and 26, 10 am – 5 pm. Below is just a sampling of the festivities.

Turtle Ridge Gallery (11736 Mink River Rd.) has a surprise for families – Mary Ellen Sisulak wrote and illustrated a children’s book, Pinklieee! Preview this colorful book and get on the list for signed and dedicated copies to be delivered before the holidays. There will also be a preview of the annual fall lookbook with the theme “Mythical Woodland Fairy Tale.”

• Join Jeanne and David Aurelius at Clay Bay Pottery (11650 Hwy. 42) for demonstrations on the wheel from 12 – 3 pm both days. New serving pieces will be unveiled, and refreshments will be served in honor of the marriage of their daughter, Martha, to potter Adam Hutchinson. Also, sign up to win a special piece of pottery.

Linden Gallery (12001 Mink River Rd.) is filled with fine contemporary Chinese paintings and Asian antiques.

Island Orchard Cider (12040 Garrett Bay Rd.) will offer samples of Spiced Hot Brut Apple Cider and French butter cookies.

The Clearing Folk School (12171 Garrett Bay Rd.) will offer refreshments and tours.

• John Dietrich and Diane McNeil of Ellison Bay Pottery (12156 Garrett Bay Rd) will demonstrate Raku firing all day Saturday. The ‘John Dietrich Retrospective’ exhibit will close Oct. 26.

• The Savory Spoon Cooking School and Marketplace (Hwy. 42) will introduce their newest accompaniment, Panforte.

• This is the first Fall Art Crawl for Rob Williams Studio Gallery (753 Isle View Rd). View Rob’s autumn paintings and Shirley’s photos of Europe.

Gills Rock Stoneware (12020 Hwy. 42) will offer wood-fired turkey and showcase turkey platters, plates, garden globes and wine coolers.

Bonnie Paruch Studio and Gallery (11249 County Rd. ZZ), will serve Smokin’ Chili and apple cider. Stop in to view this Master Pastelist’s new works and to register to win a small painting.

Cousin’s Walk (11940 Lakeview Rd.) has fun folk art, bowls, antique chairs and tables painted in Marcy’s colorful style.
