Altrusa International of Door County and more than 500 children participating in the Back-to-School Fair held Aug. 8, extend heartfelt appreciation to the many volunteers who generously donated time and energy to help make this huge event happen.
There were nearly 100 folks from the community – husbands, friends, relatives and more – helping Altrusans with fair set-up on Friday, guiding the children around the gym on Saturday, passing out school supplies, backpacks, school shirts and more, and then helping with breakdown and cleanup Saturday afternoon. Special thanks go out to the staff at the YMCA, members of the local Coast Guard, employees of the Fire and Sheriff’s Departments, several Target employees and our new truck driver.
We in Altrusa could not accomplish this huge community service project without the help of volunteers – and we thank you all for your efforts.
