Letter to the Editor: Altrusa Thanks Community Volunteers

A huge thank-you from Altrusa and more than 600 participating children to all the volunteers who helped with the 22nd annual Back-to-School Fair this year! Held on August 3 at the Sturgeon Bay Middle School, the fair provided grade-appropriate school supplies, new backpacks, new gym shoes and socks, school-spirit shirts, registration fees and several other new items for children starting the upcoming school year. Nearly 80 community volunteers and plenty of Altrusans worked at the event itself, staffing various supply stations and guiding the children around the venue. Many helped with several days of set-up. Altrusa also sends a big thanks to the staff members at the school for all of their behind-the-scenes help with set-up, tear-down and clean-up. Altrusa alone cannot make this event happen and is very grateful for the support of family, friends, school staff and community members each year. The fair could not happen without our valued volunteers!
