Altrusa’s Back-to-School Fair Receives Walmart Foundation Grant

The 2019 Back-to-School Fair, sponsored by Altrusa International of Door County, received a grant of $2,500 from the Walmart Foundation for school supplies. Altrusan Cheri Meyvis applied for the grant. The Walmart in Sturgeon Bay and the Walmart Foundation have provided financial support for Altrusa’s efforts with the fair since 2001. Children who attend receive grade-appropriate school supplies, backpacks, gym shoes and other new items. This year’s fair will serve more than 600 local children.
