Amish Quilt Show To Be Held at Sister Bay Village Hall

The tenth annual Amish Quilt Show and Sale will be held at the Sister Bay Village Hall in downtown Sister Bay Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20, from 9 am – 5 pm. Sue and Joe Jarosh have expanded their Amish quilt sources, traveling to five states for new quilt designs. Over 90 Amish quilts in a variety of colors, patterns, and sizes will be available. The quilts will be on display and turned on a regular basis by show employees wearing gloves for guests to view.

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage is pleased to include Quilter’s Quest – a quilt shop with over 3,000 bolts of fabric located in the Country Walk Shops in Sister Bay – in this year’s Amish Quilt Show. Owner Linda Batley will be demonstrating in the lower level of the Village Hall. The public is encouraged to participate and attempt a few of Batley’s techniques, such as the “Toothbrush Needle” rug/placemat: a no-sew, take along project.

In addition to the Amish quilts, a wide selection of Amish wall hangings will be on hand at the show. Featured this year will be a variety of baskets crafted by the Yoder family.

Pillows, table runners, place mats, pot holders, table centers, spice mats, rugs, hand-crafted dolls, and a large selection of books regarding quilting patterns, Amish quilt trends, and Amish recipes will also be on display and available.

An entry fee of one dollar will be charged for Quilt Show entry. Children aged five or under are admitted free but must be attended by an adult at all times.

The Amish Quilt Show and Sale is sponsored by the Jacksonport Craft Cottage. For more information, call 920.823.2288, email [email protected], or visit http://www.jacksonportcraftcottage.com.
