The popular Art, Craft and Amish Quilt Sale will be held July 7-10, 9 am – 5 pm, at Mr. G’s Fernwood Gardens, 5890 Hwy 57 south of Jacksonport.
More than 100 Amish-made quilts in a variety of styles, patterns and colors will be featured during this annual event. The quilts will be on display on a bed and turned regularly by show employees, with explanations given as they’re presented. Chairs will be set up in the gallery area for visitors’ comfort.
Local artists who will be demonstrating, displaying and selling their work include Chris Steinhagen, handcrafted brooms; Ken Klitzman, pen-and-ink on Door County beach stone and scratch board; Sandra Peterson, pen-and-ink on embossed watercolor paper; Lana Bradley, hand-stitched fabric art; June Grutza, glass painting; and Kathy Plahmer, baskets.
Also browse tables of fabric, hand-poured candles, soaps, wooden bowls, doll clothes, hand-sewn items and much more. Amish Cashew Crunch – back by popular demand – will be available while quantities last, along with Amish caramels and Yoder popcorn.
An entry fee of $1 will be charged at the door. Children ages 8 and younger are free but must be attended by an adult at all times. Adults may sign up for door-prize drawings, and winners need not be present to win.
