Amy Casey Signs Debut Book at Novel Bay

Novel Bay Booksellers, 44 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, will host author Amy Casey on July 16, 10 am – 12 pm, for a book signing of her debut novel, The Sturgeon’s Heart, released this year. It earned a starred review on Booklist.

The story follows three people in Duluth, Minnesota. There, Howard Wright finds his skin turning transparent, revealing the bloody workings of musculature beneath. Sarah Turnsfield is living under an assumed identity, on the run from her past as a meteoric scientific prodigy. And Jo Breckmier seeks a new start after a bitter divorce, leaning on alcohol and a stubborn will to reinvent herself. When instinct, the swiftly warming spring and Howard’s monstrous body conspire to bring them together, they will all discover how long they can hide.

Casey lives in Wisconsin near the shore of Lake Michigan, where she dreams up stories of quiet monsters and wild landscapes and frequently writes on a Smith Corona Classic 12 manual typewriter from 1964.
