Two new executive leaders have now joined the Door County YMCA Senior Leadership Team. YMCA CEO Tom Beerntsen announced that Amy Ludwigsen has joined the staff as the marketing and membership director and Heidi Erickson is now the executive director of the Northern Door Y Program Center in Fish Creek.
Ludwigsen has served as the executive director of Door Shakespeare for the past four years. Prior to her work with Door Shakespeare she was the store operations director for the flagship Patagonia store in SoHo in New York City. She will be responsible for the development and implementation of the overall strategy, direction and management of the association Membership and Marketing Departments.
Ludwigsen will also continue to provide continued guidance and counsel to Door Shakespeare as the organization’s artistic director.
Erickson brings an extensive YMCA and recreation program background to the Y team. She was the center executive of the East Side YMCA branch in Green Bay from 2009 to 2012. Prior to her work in Green Bay she was the associate executive director of the Eau Claire YMCA. Heidi joins the Y staff after three years with the Appleton Parks and Recreation Department where she was a recreation program supervisor. She resides in Ephraim.
“We are excited to bring two experienced executives to our Y leadership team. Both Amy and Heidi have extensive background in their respective fields. Amy will help us to continue the growth of our membership, which now approaches 8,000 in our county, and provide direction as we work to tell the story of the Y’s impact of on the lives of our members and guests. Heidi’s significant program and administrative background positions her to be the ideal leader for our Fish Creek branch as we work to expand our programs to more residents in northern Door County,” Beerntsen explained.
