An AleFest for All

The New Belgium Brewing tent was pouring a couple of unusual brews – a Coconut Curry Hefeweizen, a Yuzu Berlinerwiess and Pumpkick, which added cranberries to the traditional taste of pumpkin beer. Photo by Jim Lundstrom.

With intermittent clouds and a stiff wind off Green Bay, it was jacket/hat/and beer mitten weather for the 2nd Annual Egg Harbor AleFest held Sept. 21. But with plenty of tasty beers to sample from 40 breweries, there was something for everyone. Plenty of autumnal pumpkin beers were available for tasting, as was just about every other style you can imagine, as well as several you probably wouldn’t imagine, such as the Coconut Curry Hefeweizen from New Belgium Brewing, which carried a hint of heat in each sip.
