An Ancient Medium

On Sept. 16 – 19, the Peninsula School of Art will host an R&F Encaustic Comprehensive workshop. It is a great opportunity to try your hand at this diverse and ancient medium. R&F, the sponsor of this workshop, is the leading manufacturer of encaustic paints and mediums. In conjunction with R&F, Peninsula School of Art will supply all of the materials and equipment, excluding work surfaces/panels and basic brushes.

Instructor Cynthia Winika is an encaustic artist and paint maker for R&F. Participants will learn a multitude of techniques, from traditional paint application, to creating surface textures and embedding papers and drawings into the wax medium.
