An Era Ends: Hanseatic Gallery to close Oct. 23

Hanseatic Art Gallery will close its doors for good Oct. 23, but until then, it will be open Wednesday – Saturday, 2-5 pm.

Beloved Ephraim artists Ellen (1926-2016) and Karsten (1929-2021) Topelmann established the gallery in 1971, and Lars and Lisa Topelmann have run it during its last season. Karsten and Ellen were fixtures of the Door County art scene and community, and their artwork captures the beauty of Door County and other special places around the world. A good number of their stunning oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings are still available after a busy summer and are now being sold at half price.
