Andrea Kinsey-Jauquet Presents ‘A History in Paint’ on Aug. 29

Andrea Kinsey-Jauquet invites the community to share her Fish Creek memories through a free event, “A History in Paint,” on Aug. 29, 7 pm, at Gibraltar’s Old Town Hall. Light refreshments will be served.

The Thorps, Claflins and Kinseys are longtime residents of Fish Creek. The members of the Kinsey family grew up knowing their roots and wanting to preserve the beauty of the village. Andrea Kinsey-Jauquet was born in 1943, attended Gibraltar School, returned home in her retirement and began painting the familiar buildings of Fish Creek. Her stories take you back to the 1950s and ’60s in a small, quiet tourist town, and her paintings beautifully illustrate them.

The Gibraltar Historical Association (historicnoble.org) also continues its docent-led tours through August. Meet on the porch of the Alexander Noble House Museum on Tuesday or Thursday at 10 am. Audio tours of the town are also available.
