Announcing Door County Lighthouse Festival

The 19th annual Door County Lighthouse Festival returns to the second weekend in June and again museum members are getting a jump on the general public when it comes to purchasing tickets. This year’s event June 8 – 10, with a weekend filled with special land-based tours and boat excursions. Members may begin ordering tickets on March 19, with the general public sale starting on April 2.

There are four land-based tours, three making stops at the five mainland accessible lights. Lighthouses will maintain regular seasonal hours in the county through the weekend. Both the Sherwood Point Lighthouse and Canal Station light in Sturgeon Bay are operated by the U.S. Coast Guard and offer free admission over the weekend. However, the Saturday and Sunday of Lighthouse Festival weekend are the only days the property and lighthouse are open to the public at Sherwood Point. The range lights in The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor will also welcome visitors both Friday and Saturday between 10 am and 2 pm with a donation appreciated.

A fun raffle has been added to this year’s event that offers five lighthouse birdfeeders and five birdhouses, each painted by Door County artists. Tickets will sell for $5 each and 5 for $20. Tickets will be available at the museum and various lighthouse locations.
