Annual “After Taxes” Concert Held in Algoma

The Algoma Community Band, under the direction of Tom Mueller, will present its annual After Taxes concert on April 29 at 7 pm at the Algoma Elementary School Performing Arts Center.

The band will play everyone’s favorite marches: “Gilly’s Waltz” featuring the baritone section; Mitch Leigh’s “Man of La Mancha;” Meredith Willson’s “Seventy Six Trombones,” directed by Dave Kopetsky; a medley of old- time tunes and other favorites.

Three former band members will be honored for their years of participation. Those being honored are Darlene Andre, Wendy Smetana, and Dale Wahlers. Each of the former members played in the clarinet section for 30 or more years.

Everyone is welcome to experience a night of toe-tapping and entertaining band music. Algoma Elementary School is located at 514 Fremont St.
