Annual Bazyli Studio Trunk Show at Linden Gallery

It’s time for the 11th annual Bazyli Studio Trunk Show at Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay, Aug. 19 & 20. Skye and Peter Ciesla have been collaborating on their unique style of bead-embroidered jewelry since 2002. They have shown work inspired by Southwest China in collaboration with Brian and Jeanee Linden since 2006. From antique copper molds depicting various symbols and story motifs, Miao silver work, fragments of pottery from the Ch’ing and Ming dynasties, carved bone animals and faces; the couple have incorporated the beautiful work of the artisans of Southwest China into their jewelry for 10 years. This work is exclusive to Linden Gallery during the Door County spring, summer and fall season.

This year features carved stone symbols important to Chinese culture and mythology. There are stone dragons, cranes and Guanyin, each carved in great detail and each piece one-of-a-kind. Skye and Peter have incorporated these pieces into pendants, from simple to complex.

“We have always considered it a great honor to be working with these amazing pieces done by artisans on the other side of the world. These symbols and stories speak to us all and we have received great appreciation and support for this Asian Collection, which has continued to grow and expand over the years. We hope it is a small way of preserving a cultural heritage and raising awareness of the symbols and stories associated with the beautiful artwork,” said Skye.

The show takes place from 10 am to 5 pm, Aug. 19 & 20 at Linden Gallery, 12001 Mink River Road, Ellison Bay. For more information call 920.854.2487.
