Annual Chefs for a Day Returns Oct. 7 to Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club

The 22nd Annual Chefs for a Day event to benefit United Way of Door County will be held Oct. 7 at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club. Doors open at 6 pm to a complimentary wine and cheese tasting. At 6:15pm, volunteer servers will distribute hors d’oeuvres created by amateur chefs. At 7:15 pm, guests will be able to sample 45 gourmet dishes, including hors d’oeuvres, entrees, and desserts during the evening’s event. Chefs were asked to make the dish they are best known for, whether it’s an appetizer, artisan bread, fresh salads, entrée or dessert.

Volunteer chefs are people from the Door County community who are preparing tempting dishes for the enjoyment of attendees. A few of the chefs include Steve Vickman from HELP of Door County, Sue Anschutz from Sevastopol Schools, Caleb Frostman from Door County Economic Development Corporation, and Kathy Kerwin from Door County Medical Center.

Throughout the evening there will be a silent auction and various raffles. All proceeds benefit United Way of Door County. Tickets are $45 each and advance purchase is highly encouraged. For more information or tickets, call 920.746.9645 or visit unitedwaydc.com.
