Annual Hymn Sing at Zion United

Zion United Methodist Church will hold the first of its two annual hymn sings at 6:30 pm on Sunday, July 11. The event, which has attracted participants from over a dozen different religious dominations, features old-time hymns selected by the audience. The Rev. Don Heeringa, a former Zion pastor, will serve as song leader, with Joan Vahey at the organ.

Refreshments will be served. All proceeds of the free-will offering will be donated to local food banks. Since 2002, Zion’s Hymn Sings have raised nearly $13,000 for such local agencies as the Northern Door Children’s Center, Neighbor to Neighbor, the Door County Community Program, Door County Emergency Heat, Habitat for Humanity’s Apostle Build, and HELP of Door County.
