Appliance, Drug Drop-Off in Sister Bay

The Sister Bay Village Board and the Door County Sheriff’s Office are presenting a drug drop-off and appliance-recycling event May 13, 9 am – 1 pm, at the Sister Bay Sports Complex, 2155 Autumn Court.

For the drug-recycling part of the event – which is free and open to the public – prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted in their original bottles or packaging, or in clear-plastic bags.

Members of the public may also recycle small household appliances and items such as bicycles, lawn mowers, snow blowers, stoves and washing machines. Depending on the item, a fee may be charged.

Additionally, Sister Bay residents, business owners and property owners may take documents to be securely shredded. There will be no charge for the shredding, but proof of village residency is required. Shredding will be limited to five banker’s boxes of materials per household or business.

Some disposal restrictions apply. Call Chief Deputy McCarty at 920.746.2400 with questions regarding medication drop-off, and direct questions about the shredding and appliance recycling to Janal at 920.854.4118.
