Apply to Create Cherry in New Street-Art Program

Destination Sturgeon Bay is looking for artists to embellish or create a cherry for its new street-art program, Cherries Jubilee – Celebrating 20 Years of Sturgeon Bay Public Art. This collaboration of art and community, presented by Destination Sturgeon Bay and Associated Bank, will feature cherries on display throughout Sturgeon Bay starting May 11 to beautify the city’s streets.

Chosen artists will create, embellish, adorn and/or enhance one cherry that will be created by Key Industrial Plastics and Hi-Tech Fabrication and provided by Destination Sturgeon Bay. Local businesses will sponsor all cherries, which will remain on display until Sept. 19, when they will be sold during a live auction in Martin Park following Harvest Fest. Auction proceeds will benefit the artists and future street-beautification projects. To apply to embellish a provided cherry or create one of your own, call Destination Sturgeon Bay at 920.743.6246, email [email protected] or visit SturgeonBay.net. The application deadline is Jan. 11.
