• Door County Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Center will offer a free skin screening on Saturday, April 24 from 8 am – noon at 323 South 18th Ave. Visit http://www.stateofthearthope.com to register and take the online risk assessment. Call 920.743.5566 ext. 3580 from 3 – 5 pm for more information.

• Applications are being accepted for garden plots at the Sister Bay Community Garden. This is the second year of this community wide project. Plot sizes vary depending on needs. The village provides water.

The garden plots are located on Autumn Court next to the Sister Bay Water and Sewage Department and the Sports Complex. For more information and to reserve a plot call Clint at 920.421.1865 or the village office at 920.854.4118.

Feed the Fish, the movie filmed in Door County in the winter of 2009, will be shown in a special one-week engagement beginning April 23 at Point Cinema in Madison.

The showing, done in conjunction with Marcus Theaters Corporation, will come one week after the film’s sold-out world premiere at the Wisconsin Film Festival.

Point Cinema is located at 7825 Big Sky Drive in Madison. Feed the Fish stars Tony Shalhoub, Katie Aselton, and Ross Partridge and was written and directed by Michael Matzdorff. More details about the production are available at http://www.feedthefishmovie.com.

• The Door County Economic Development Corporation, Door County Visitor Bureau and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College are presenting a free marketing seminar for Door County business owners Tuesday, April 20, 1 – 3 pm. Steve Tyink, Vice President of Business Innovation for Miron Construction Co. Inc., will present an interactive workshop entitled “Standing Out: The Clues & The Cause” at the Gibraltar Fire Station, 3496 County Highway F. • Pinkert Law Firm will present its 4th annual Law Affecting Business (LAB) seminar free of charge for Door County businesses and employers on April 30.
