April 3 Door County Election Results

KEWAUNEE COUNTY ELECTION RESULTS>>

The Sturgeon Bay Common Council has a much different look after Tuesday’s elections. Incumbent alderpersons Stewart Fett and Richard Wiesner both lost close races, while former mayor Bob Starr lost his bid to replace retiring Ron Vandertie.

The council welcomes David Hayes, Seth Wiederanders, and Kelly Avenson to office. It’s the first time the city will have a majority female council.

City voters also voted overwhelmingly in favor of enacting a half cent Premier Resort Area Tax. To take effect the city will need to get special legislation proposed and passed by the state legislature and signed by Governor Scott Walker

Statewide, Rebecca Dallet won a seat to the Wisconsin Supreme Court over Michael Screnock and voters rejected a proposal to eliminate the position of State Treasurer.
