Archelle “Buttons” Wolst Offers Paintings at Reduced Prices

“Checkered Shoes” by Archelle “Buttons” Wolst.

Collectors have a rare opportunity this Thanksgiving weekend to purchase oil paintings by Archelle “Buttons” Wolst, award winning Door County painter, at greatly reduced prices. The sale takes place at 611 Jefferson Street, at the corner of Jefferson and Sixth Avenue, in Sturgeon Bay.

From 9 am – 5 pm on Nov. 23, 24 and 25, her oil paintings will be up to 75 percent off 2012 pricing. There are well over a hundred paintings— framed, unframed, large and small— of figures, florals, landscapes, still-lifes and portraits available.

“I have been happily painting for the last several years and enjoyed the progression of creating. It’s time to move forward and let some pieces go,” Wolst explains. “My mantra is to ‘live with art and love your life’ and this gives everyone a chance to have a piece of original art.”

“Buttons,” as Wolst is known, has exhibited in Door County for the last several years, winning awards in juried exhibits and being invited to create for special shows at the Miller Art Museum and the Hardy Gallery. She also earned the “Best in Show” award earlier this year for the Door Prize for Portraiture.

Wolst has a BFA and MFA from Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and continues to study with masters in Wisconsin and Arizona.
