The upcoming Art, Craft and Amish Quilt Sale is July 12-15 at Mr. G’s Hall on Highway 57, just south of Jacksonport, from 9 am to 5 pm.
More than 100 Amish-made quilts in a variety of popular styles, patterns and colors are featured at this 21st annual show. Baby, double, queen and king sized quilts are available. The quilts will be on display on a queen sized bed and will be turned on a regular basis by show employees. An explanation of each quilt is given as each is presented. Chairs will be set up in the gallery area for those wanting to view the quilts.
The popular Amish Cashew Crunch will be available while quantities last. Amish noodles, peanut butter, apple butter, Amish caramels and Yoder popcorn will also be available. There will be tables of fabric, hand-poured candles, soaps, wooden bowls, doll clothes, hand-sewn items and more.
The following local artists will demonstrate their work: Chris Steinhagen (handcrafted brooms), Ken Klitzman (pen and ink on Door County beach stone and scratchboard), Sandra Peterson (pen and ink on embossed watercolor paper), Audrey Off (watercolor, acrylic and mixed media), Lana Bradley (hand-stitched fabric art) and June Grutza (glass painting).
The entry fee is $1 and free for children ages 8 and younger. All adults are welcome to sign up for Door Prize drawings for four $25 gift certificates from Jacksonport Cottage or future quilt sales.
