Art for the Park Bidding Begins

The Sturgeon Bay Skatepark Initiative’s Art for the Park silent auction is currently underway through April 28. Over 30 painted, wooden skateboard decks featuring the work of professional artists and local students are up for auction. All proceeds help fund the construction of a public skatepark on the west side of Sturgeon Bay.

Decks are displayed at Glas in Sturgeon Bay, Czarnuska Soup Bar in Ephraim and Southern Door Middle School throughout April. Bids may be made at the sites listed above for the duration of the show and on the Sturgeon Bay Skatepark Initiative Facebook page. The Auction Countdown takes place April 28 from 11 am – 2 pm; bidding ends at 1 pm.

The Sturgeon Bay Skatepark Initiative (SBSI) is a group of skaters, parents and businesses that have teamed up with the Sturgeon Bay Park and Recreation Department to create a safe public place for skateboarders of all levels.
