Art Gallery Calls for Creative Writers

#4 in the series of “Story Starters” by Door County artist Tim Nyberg.

Gallery 42 is putting out the call for creative writers of all ages to use Tim Nyberg’s “Story Starters” series of paintings as inspiration for short stories, poems and other literary forms. Twenty paintings, now titled #1 through #20 (so as to not influence writers), are posted at http://www.galleryfortytwo.com/story_starters. The originals are also available for viewing by appointment at Gallery 42 in Sturgeon Bay.

An exhibit, featuring the paintings along with a sampling of creative writings based on each piece, will be on display in January. An opening, including an artist talk and readings, is scheduled for Friday, January 15 at 7 pm.

Junior High and High School English classes around the county have also been invited to participate. The Peninsula Pulse will be publishing some of these stories in their January 8, 2010 issue.
