Art-i-tat to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

Woodwalk Gallery on County Hwy G in Egg Harbor will be the site of Art-i-tat, an event to benefit Door County Habitat for Humanity on Aug. 28. The event will showcase the finished work of invited artists who have created a piece of art using components and furniture from the Habitat Restore.

Beginning at 5:30 pm, attendees may place a silent bid on 20 pieces of art that range from chairs to doors. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a travelling photo exhibit produced by Habitat for Humanity International will be on display.

“Some of the artists have finished their work, and what we’re seeing is absolutely beautiful,” said Grace Rossman, one of the chairs for the event. “Anyone who wants a unique and compelling piece of art in their home should attend this event.”

Sarah Bradley, a member of the committee and one of the artists, has created a landscape on a door. She said, “I’m especially pleased to paint for such a worthy cause as Door County Habitat for Humanity.”

Tickets are $30 per couple, and reservations can be made by calling the Habitat for Humanity office at 920.743.2869.

Artists who would like to be included in the event should contact Door County Habitat for Humanity at 920.743.2869.
