“Hallway” by Steven Stanger.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery is celebrating the start of a new season with a wine and cheese reception on May 24, 3 to 5 pm, at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. The public is invited, and admission is free.

In addition to the refreshments, visitors will be treated to a special exhibit. According to Gale Ritchey, director of the DCAL Gallery, “Our season begins with a special group exhibit, Shoot the Breeze and 3D, showcasing the DCAL Gallery’s photographers and 3D artists. Gorgeous landscapes, nature, specific Door County sites, and progressive special effects are part of the camera works. The 3D works include mini-easel art of Door County landscapes and elaborate painted Lake Michigan rocks.”

In addition, the gallery offers original watercolor, acrylic, oil and pastel paintings as well as affordable art prints.

The co-op DCAL Gallery features the work of 24 DCAL members: Beverly Hart Branson, Mary Collette, Bethany Kirwen, Polly Joubert, Barbara Kenyon, Maren Larsen, Jon Reddin, Lauretta Kelly, Dorothy McDowell, Gretchen Misselt, Denny Moutray, Sherry Mutchler, Penny Pfister, Gale Ritchey, Clarence Scherer, Earland Sandstrom, Dianne Saron, Karen Shanahan, Madonna Siles, Arlene Stanger, Steven Stanger, Barbara Timmerman, Stephanie Holznecht and Anita Evers.

The gallery is open every day, except Wednesday, from 11 am to 5 pm, and 3 pm on Sundays. For more information about upcoming exhibits and DCAL’s monthly meetings, visit doorcountyartleague.org.
