Art, Naturally

This summer the Door County Art League has increased it’s outreach efforts to the general public, forming a nexus with the Door County Libraries throughout the county. Door County Art League Volunteers Gary Chadoir, B.K. Story and Cheryl Stidwell Parker are teaching unique art activities designed for groups of all ages.

Thus far, over 80 individuals have enjoyed free family art events at Baileys Harbor, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay.

Parker, who is a retired museum administrator and museum educator designed four kits which offer an element of nature to each art lesson, as well as explore printmaking, painting and hand made paper inlay.

The Friends of the Library and The Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay furnished a variety of art supplies needed for these kits.

Upcoming “Art, Naturally” events include:  watercolor wind socks, Baileys Harbor, July 22; Bug Buddies, hand made paper bugs, Baileys Harbor, August 5; and Bug Buddies, hand made paper bugs, Sturgeon Bay, August 6.
