Art of Music Kicks Off

On Thursday, June 26, singer/songwriter and interpreter of ballads Bill Camplin returns to the Door County Outpost to set the stage for “The Art of Music” summer concert series.

An accomplished guitarist with a great voice and a quick-wit, Camplin will bring plenty of smiles and possibly a tear to the eye, as he is also noted for his soulful ballads.

Over the years Camplin has recorded seven albums. His latest, Project One, is a collection of Bob Dylan’s music performed in Camplin’s own distinctive style.

When asked about his exploits, Camplin refuses to participate, saying with a grin, "A bio is a collection of lies…I wish them to be somebody else’s." Nonetheless, he has been in Fort Atkinson running the Café Carpe for over 20 years with his partner Kitty Welch and their two children. As the house musician he regularly entertains and has managed to bring an incredible number of talented and famous performers there to join him.

The Camplin concert at the Door County Outpost on June 26 will begin at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door by general admission. For more information call 920.493.5979 or 920.868.4321.
