  • Painters Recognized in Maryland

    Four oil painters whom were on a painting trip earlier this year to southwest China, which was organized by the Barnsite Gallery and Linden Gallery, as well as a painting mentor who will be on the March 2009 painting trip, were recently recognized at the Easton, Maryland Plein Air Event.

    Door County Art League (DCAL) members will be displaying and selling their work in a beautiful barn setting at 8822 Highway 57 in Baileys Harbor, Friday through Sunday, August 15 – 17.

  • Gallery of the Door County Art League Artists’ Demonstrations

    Door County Art League (DCAL) jeweler Kim Pedler will be presenting two informal sessions from 10 am – 5 pm on Sunday, August 17, at the Gallery of the Door County Art League, located at the back of the Top of the Hill Shops on Highway 42 and County F in Fish Creek on Spring Road.

  • Wilkins & Olander Hosts “She Beads” Trunk Show and Demo

    On Saturday, August 9, from noon – 4 pm, Wilkins & Olander will host a trunk show featuring the new jewelry collections from She Beads as well as a special bead-making demonstration by ‘Bead Diva’ Sandy Rueve.

  • Leline and Killough Featured in Late Summer Exhibit

    Whitefish Bay Farm Gallery is featuring the watercolors of Door County native, Caitlin Leline, and the handspun yarns, hand knits, and hand weavings of Ginnie Killough of Marquette, Michigan from now through September 1.

  • Larger Than Life Paintings

    Mary Strue, who views flowers as having faces and reflects them in her paintings, will be the featured artist at the Unitarian Universalist Gallery in August.

  • EH Klink (1943 – 2008)

    EH (Ed) Klink, a featured artist at the Santa Fe Shop passed away recently. The Santa Fe Shop may currently be displaying one of the last few original oil paintings Klink painted.

  • Paint Box Gallery Features “Three Men and a Woman”

    The Paint Box Gallery has a new exhibit entitled, “Three Men and a Woman,” featuring Fish Creek resident Mary Blotti Anderson, Tom DeMint, James Dolan, and Ken Bronkowski.

  • Academy Graduates Honored

    Six students were in the first graduating class from the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art (KAFA) and received their Certificate of Completion at a reception held at the Barnsite Gallery in Kewaunee.

  • Paint by Number

    Gallery 42 calls the event “Art and Music Jam” – the experiment held every Saturday between 1 and 4 pm at the Juddville gallery. One might also refer to the event as “Paint by Number” (musical number that is).

  • 2008 Back Gallery Series Continues with Melissa Jones

    Described as dream-like and alluring, the mixed-media artwork of Melissa Jones will be on exhibit in The Back Gallery Series 2008 at The Flying Pig Gallery and Greenspace from August 2 through September 1.

    “Observations from Life – Reviving the Academic Approach” will open at the Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay, Saturday, August 9 and run through August 24.

  • Linden and Barnsite Gallery to Host Benefit for China’s Earthquake Victims

    On August 8 and 9, the Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay and Barnsite Gallery in Kewaunee will host a silent Art Auction to benefit the victims of the massive May earthquake in Sichuan, China.

  • “Explore. Dream. Discover.” – The Linden Centre

    Inside a brochure detailing the Linden Centre, the recently-opened learning and exploration center owned and operated by Brian and Jeanee Linden, there is a fantastic quote by the writer Mark Twain: “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do."

  • “Old With New: Found Treasures” Exhibition at Gallery 242

    Wisconsin artist Renee Diedrick’s exhibition titled “Old with New: Found Treasures” in Gallery 242, located on the lower level of the Fairfield Art Center in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay, will run until August 30.

  • Collector’s Choice Benefit

    Also on display at the Hardy Gallery is the “2008 Collection Invitational.” In conjunction with the exhibit is the “Collector’s Choice Benefit,” a fundraiser for the center’s local, educational programs in the arts, including Art Camp, Sample the Arts, the Art Therapy Program, the Door County Festival of the Arts and the organization’s newest outreach program, ETC – an Arts Mentorship Program linking creative professionals to high school youth.
