Art School Salon Seeks Entries

Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek is inviting all two- and three-dimensional artists to participate in the 10th annual Salon at Guenzel Gallery on exhibit from Jan. 6 – 21, 2012. Artwork for display and sale will be accepted on Jan. 4 and 5 from 9 am – 4 pm at the school. The entry fee is $15 for one piece, $25 for two pieces, and $30 for three pieces. Works previously shown in the Guenzel Gallery are not eligible.

This is the second year that the exhibit will include People’s Choice Awards, a competition for recognition and cash prizes. During the party on the final night of the exhibition, taking place Jan. 21 from 6 – 9 pm, attendees will vote for their favorite works. The first place People’s Choice Award winner will receive $250, with second place receiving $150 and third place receiving $100.

In recent years, over 150 works have been displayed, with art filling the walls of the school’s Guenzel Gallery in authentic salon, floor-to-ceiling style. The Salon party will offer complimentary refreshments and live entertainment. The party and exhibition are free and open to the public.
