Art to Wear at Bazyli in Baileys Harbor

Bazyli Studio Wearable Art Gallery opens its doors for the 2017 season on May 19. This destination gallery in Baileys Harbor is the home and studios of fiber artists Skye and Peter Ciesla.

The gallery features Peter’s one-of-a-kind clothing designs. This spring he has been working with natural linens as well as dyeing his own yardage of organic cotton with his black walnut natural dye. The walnuts were gathered last fall here in the county.

The gallery also features Bazyli jewelry, the couple’s long-time collaboration. The jewelry is hand-crafted and unique beaded necklaces, pendants, earrings, cuffs, brooches as well as larger sculptural wearable pieces. Their work is always dynamic and changing. In addition, the gallery hosts work by selected artists.

Kick off the season on May 25 with a glass of wine and extended hours at the gallery till 7 pm. Bazyli Studio Wearable Art, located at 2551 Ahrens Road in Baileys Harbor, is open 10 am – 5 pm, Wednesday through Sunday, May through October.
