The Art of the Written Word

Faces – Old and New is the next exhibit at the Meadows Art Gallery at Scandia Village in Sister Bay. Returning and new artists to the Meadows will bring new works of art for this exhibit.

The Meadows Gallery’s mission is to be “artists helping artists.” The Meadows wishes to display and support Door County artists in every genre and so the Meadows will hang and exhibit written art.

Sharon Auberle speaks in two art languages. She will show her photography as well as her poetry. Both the photographs and her poetry are extremely sensitive to her subjects.

Tina Brodeck is new to the Meadows Gallery. She is a visual artist in carving and painting.

Rolf Olson is a photographer that will also display his poetry.

Marie Skrobot will exhibit her paintings. She has a unique watercolor style that adds freshness to her compositions.

Terry VanVorous is a woodcarver that creates statements from dimensional sculptures, to decorative concepts on utilitarian objects such as walking staffs or canes.

Connie Glowacki is an accomplished watercolorist. This time she brings prose to one of her paintings, showing the reasons behind the image.

Beverly Hart Branson brings experience and passion to her work. She uses line as well as color in her constructions.

This show was installed Sept. 6 and will run to Sept. 30. The Meadows Art Gallery, open 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located in Sister Bay at Scandia Village. At the main entrance of Scandia Village, enter under the portico roof and turn right at the hallway to enter the Meadows Gallery. The reception is Sept. 10, 2 – 4 pm.
