ArtFest in Gills Rock

Gills Rock Coffee will hold Gills Rock ArtFestSept. 5 and 6, 10 am to 5 pm.

More than 15 artists will display their works in different media, many demonstrating their techniques.

These artists formerly displayed their works at Charlene’s Gallery Ten:  Ray Kapfamer, Norm Knott, Marcia Nickols, Joe Hernandez, Mark Haberle, Chris Meissner, Kris Franzke and David Franke. Also exhibiting are Dee and Bruce Santorini, Sue Donohoo, Denny Moutray and Steven and Arlene Stanger. New artists this year are Terri Roller with vintage aprons; Nancy Lohmiller, watercolors and handmade books; J. Michael Tucci, watercolors; Amy Taylor, jewelry; and Kim Fitzgerald, botanical journals and cards.

Attendees will see the eight-foot raku obelisk created by Dee and Bruce Santorini. They first built a structure, placed each of the individually fired raku pieces, then glued, grouted and sealed them.

Entertainment will be provided by guitarist duo Michael Kettler and Steve Reda, playing blues and rock.

Gills Rock Coffee will be open extended hours on both days, from 8 am to 5 pm, offering specialty coffee drinks and made from scratch bakery. The Gills Rock ArtFest is free. Gills Rock Coffee is located at 12625 Highway 42. For more information, call 920.854.9907.
