Artist Demo Day at Egg Harbor, Juddville Studios

Contemporary art in Door County intrigues collectors and art lovers alike. Two Door County studios are hosting the third annual Artist Demo Day on Sept. 23, 1 – 3 pm. Enjoy an engaging afternoon of talking with the artists about their processes and ideas while watching them work. The artists participating are Tony Staroska and Rebecca Carlton from Juddville Clay Contemporary Gallery and Ginnie Cappaert from Cappaert Contemporary Gallery.

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is the working studio/gallery of artist Ginnie Cappaert. She paints large, minimalist, abstract landscape paintings using oil and mixed media. Her little log studio, in the gardens, is located at 7901 Hwy 42, Egg Harbor. She will work on some paintings while answering questions.

Juddville Contemporary Clay Studio Gallery is located in the blue schoolhouse between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. Staroska creates unique, distinctive decorative vessels and large-scale abstracted sculptures in clay and bronze. Carlton works in clay and mixed media creating site-specific work and custom-made tile murals. Ask Staroska about his large-scale pieces while he demonstrates using the potter’s wheel. The gallery is located at 8496 Hwy 42, Fish Creek.

For more information, call Cappaert at 920.868.3987 or Carlton at 920.868.2021.
