Artist Gary Chaudoir at Corner of the Past

Sister Bay Historical Society’s Heritage Program on July 7 features artist Gary Chaudoir. He will display his work at the Corner of the Past, 1½ miles south of Sister Bay at 10310 Fieldcrest Road, from 8:30 until noon.

Chaudoir has been working in stained glass in northern Door County since 1978 and in fused glass since 1996. He specializes in custom stained glass and fused glass commissions. Using glass, wood and brass, each piece he creates is unique. His commissioned work appears at Sister Bay Moravian Church, Scandia Village, Door County Justice Center and The Clearing, among others. He has also created designs for Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association, Door County Maritime Museum, Leadership Door County, and Milwaukee County Social Services.

A few years ago Chaudoir’s glass-covered egg representing the four seasons was one of the featured works at the Egg Harbor EGGstravaganza celebration.

His demonstration at Corner of the Past will include a glass cutting demo, display of raw materials, a kiln firing in progress and many finished glass art and jewelry pieces for sale. For details about the Heritage Program visit sisterbayhistory.org.
