Artists Guild Boasts Latest Master Certified Picture Framer

Janine Buechner, custom framer at Artists Guild LLC in Sturgeon Bay, was recently named a Master Certified Picture Framer (MCPF) by the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA). The title is the most prestigious professional credential in the international framing community. After rigorous testing at a third-party site, recipients are judged to demonstrate an expert skill set at museum-level framing.

On Nov. 22, Buechner passed the examination in front of MCPF judges. This included an evaluation of framing work she had prepared in advance as well as a hands-on practicum for which she had 90 minutes to frame a piece from start to finish. Already Door County’s only Certified Picture Framer, Buechner now joins an elite group of only 70 worldwide who are Master Certified Picture Framers.
